I know first-hand as a family member the stress one feels and sometimes a sense of hopelessness when one is the only person at the bedside caring for a loved one – or at a loss regarding what to say, how best to provide support, or how to plan forward, when a diagnosis has been made.
Certain loved ones of mine, like many in the world, have been reluctant to offload their fears to family when faced with a diagnosis but still feel the need to talk to someone who can at the same time provide suggestions, offer a listening ear, and kind therapeutic techniques and compassion.
I know that at my own death, I would like it to be dignified, and in a loving environment.
In November 2018, I was privileged to be trained by Felicity Warner, at her Soul Midwives School in Dorset as a Practitioner Level One. Since then I have used the techniques and skills gained to support loved ones and I am planning to take my Spiritual Soul Midwifery Certificated Master Skills Course later in 2026.
In June 2022, I was honoured to receive training again on Tender Loving Care (TLC), which takes some of the techniques from the Soul Midwifery approach to enable loved ones, those in care homes or hospitals, to provide support and comfort to the dying. As a TLC trainer, I offer training for individuals or groups in the Lincolnshire area.
